Preparing your content

Step 3: Prepare content which interests your audience, using simple, clear language.

All ANU sites should conform with the ANU Identity. For details on how to apply the ANU visual and verbal identity please visit the ANU Identity Hub

ANU reputation is based on the attributes: Authentic, Trusted, Courageous and Optimistic.

These elements, and the professionalism of the University, should be reflected through our website presentation and content.

Content should

  • be highly relevant to the intended audience
  • use language that is meaningful
  • be structured in a logical manner and without repetition
  • be accurate and represent the quality outputs of the University.

Images should

  • be relevant to the content and audience
  • not clutter the page
  • contain a single picture, not a collage or collection of pictures within the one image
  • be high quality imagery (not sourced from clip art libraries or scanned from print sources).

In preparing your website content consider your audience, your site structure, and your page content together with the ANU web author checklist and the ANU writing style guide.
